Hoy hace 25 años que The Smiths dieron su último concierto

Aunque Johnny Marr no dejó The Smiths hasta julio de 1987, y durante ese año aún tocaran alguna canción en la televisión e incluso publicaran Strangeways, Here We Come, el último concierto completo del grupo de Manchester fue el 12 de diciembre de 1986. El evento era una iniciativa de Artistas contra el Aparheid en la Brixton Academy de Londres.

El setlist fue curioso (para quien conoce bien los directos de Mozz & CO), porque incluyó varias de The Queen is Dead, con un single por descubrir en esa época, “Shoplifters of the World Unite”, “London” y “Miserable Lie” en formato popurrí, y la rareza “The Night Has Opened My Eyes”.

El sonido no es lo mejor del mundo, pero a mi por lo menos me hace una ilusión terrible ver estas cosas. Empieza en el 14:08:
